I bought a second hand laptop, which has AMD PRO A4-4350B processor with 4gb ram, i have upgraded the 500GB HDD to 256 GB SSD and tried Lubuntu 26.04 happy with performance and installed it.
I used manual partition
- GPT partition
EFI partition
- Size: 512MB
- Type: Fat32
- MountPoint: /boot/efi
- Flag: boot (not boot-grub)
Swap
- Size: 4196MB
- Type: Linux swap
- Flag: swap
Root
- Size: Rest of the space
- Type: Ext
- MountPoint: /
Above partition structure is what i used and it installed successfully for me. This laptop basically planned to use for light browsing, movies, music, Libre calc and others.
Sometimes i create parition for /home and allocate some space to it for 256GB i thought i don't want to do it so i plan put everything in the root partition itself.
Just want to note down my steps i have used and share it with others so it will help me and others in future.
